Encyclopedia Brown looks like the usual ten-year-old boy. Actually, he is very unusual. Encyclopedia is a boy who really uses his eyes, his ears, and his head—and his head is full of facts. As for Idaville, where he lives, no grownup, boy, or girl ever gets away with breaking a single law there. That is because Chief of Police Brown's most difficult cases are solved by his son at the dinner table.
Includes Encyclopedia Brown, Boy Detective and Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Secret Pitch.

This trim package contains all 20 of the solve-it-yourself mysteries from the first two collections of Encyclopedia Brown stories. Jason Harris doesn't sound much like a 10-year-old sleuth, but he has enough youthful energy that it doesn't matter. In each of the brief stories, the young detective is faced with a variety of thefts, missing objects, and even a kidnapping. The listener is given all the clues needed to solve the mystery before it is revealed. In the print version of these books, the solution to each mystery is provided in an appendix. On the CD production, the solutions are included after each story, making it difficult for inquisitive listeners to test their wits against Encyclopedia's. S.E.S. (c) AudioFile 2005, Portland, Maine
